02: I´m Over You:
Blues: By Liam Hinch:
This song is a contradiction; I wanted to write about the time Helen up and left me, after we had an argument, and I said things in the heat of the moment, which I really regretted. I was going to change the lyrics, to reflect what happened, but Helen said she liked it the way it is so I left alone.
03: I´m Free:
Rock: By Liam Hinch:
Having got “I’m Shutting Down” complete, I wanted another rock song. I have no idea where the words came from, but the memory of some prison shows like “Porridge” and movies like “The Shawshank Redemption” might have played a part here.
04: It´s Party Time:
Rock & Roll: By Liam Hinch:
I really enjoyed doing this one with the help of my wife Helen, I got a rock & roll thing going on the guitar as Helen danced around the living room: a song was born!
05: Rockin´ Midnight Adder:
Rock: By Liam and Peter Hinch:
Was first written in the early seventies when we lived in Coventry. My brother Peter, stayed with us for a while and came up with this idea based on some Heavy drinking sessions, followed by some (not to be repeated) hangovers. It’s all in the words:
06: I´m Shutting Down:
Rock: By Liam Hinch:
Having problems with computers! This song came from the difficulty I had using a computer for recording, what with, program crashing, losing data, then, going for a night out after, to get a break from it, which was probably the best part, also, it had to be a rock song:
07: The Word Of A Preacher:
Blues: By Liam Hinch:
Again, this idea came while in Australia, remembering when I used to go to mass on Sundays in Dublin and playing around with some blues chords, while trying to figure out why people would listen to an hour long sermon. It’s only later in life one begins to understand why they do it:
08: To Write A Song:
Blues: By Liam Hinch:
I wrote this around 2010 and, felt I was going in a new direction (song writing) and getting a feel for the blues, I enjoyed putting this one together:
09: Waiting For The
Folk: By Liam Hinch:
My wife and I visited our home town Dublin in 2012, and all the memories of those early days came back, after we hopped a bus to the local village. I found myself daydreaming about when we were young, and waiting for buses, buses were a major part of our lives those days:
So when we arrived back in Spain I had to write about it:
10: Walking Down Cappagh Road:
Folk: By Liam Hinch:
The first idea for this song, came while on a recent visit to Australia 2014, to see our daughters and their families.
I done a rough recording on a hand held recorder that was given to me by my brother Richard as a present. It was summer time in Australia, and I was thinking back to when I was young in Dublin, remembering the things I saw on the road where I lived, and about what we used to do on those long summer nights back then:
